This blog has moved to a new address

The Big Ride blog has changed to use the new domain name of bigride.eu.

This blog originally launched using the domain name bigride.ie – and for the next few months this address will remain active, redirecting people to the new domain.

So why the change?

To be completely honest with you, it came down to cost. The price for renewing an ‘.ie’ domain for one year is around €30 (€25 plus VAT), which is not a huge amount of money, but when you run a few different web sites (as I do) the cost of renewing all the different domains adds up – especially when the sites don’t generate any income.

And at the time of writing there was a promotion on that allowed anyone within the European Union to register an ‘.eu’ domain name for 10 years for just €24.60 (€20 plus VAT)!

So I’ve saved a fiver by moving from .ie to .eu, and the .eu domain is now mine for 10 years rather that one. That’s quite a bargain!

But don’t worry, everything else remains the same, including:

  • the disappointing content
  • the poor fact-checking
  • the sporadic posting
